Dharma Yoga and Inversions

Dharma Yoga is described as a graceful yet challenging form of yoga, based on fifty years of practice of classical Yoga by legendary Yoga Master, Sri Dharma Mittra. This workshop is an opportunity to practise and for those who don’t know it yet, discover, this beautiful form of Hatha Raja Yoga, ‘a devotional practice that emphasises good health, a clear mind and a kind heart’.

The Dharma practice typically starts with a Vinyasa warm-up and is followed by stationary poses, which we hold or work on for longer than in the Vinyasa warm-up. In this workshop, we will work longer on inversions, mainly headstand, forearm balances and handstands. Many variations of the postures will be offered, from the simplest forms to more advanced ones. We will conclude the workshop with a Yoga Nidra session in order to bring on a deep sense of calm, balance, peace and invigorated energy to all students.

Price: early bird - £30 until 31 August 2019 and thereafter £35.

Dharma Yoga and Yoga Nidra

This workshop will start with a 90-minute Dharma Yoga practice. It will include some pranayama exercises, a series of stretching, balancing, back-bending, twisting, and inverted postures. I will show you ways of gradually working towards more advanced forms of asanas, focusing on backbends. All levels are welcome as many options will be offered.

We will conclude with a 30-minute Yoga Nidra. Yoga Nidra is a deep-rooted relaxation technique that restores one’s inner balance by breaking free from the stress of life. This result occurs on an unconscious level as your bodily systems become healthy, balanced and refreshed. Yoga Nidra is a form of active meditation and it will leave you feeling renewed and recharged.

Price: early bird - £25 until 19 October 2019 and thereafter £30.
