For almost two years now I have been an ambassador of the skincare range FRÉ SKINCARE. They sent me a set to try in March 2019, just as I was leaving to train at the Dharma Yoga Center in New-York for my 800-hour training. A week later, after practising Yoga every day all day long, I was converted to Fré! My skin didn’t suffer from de-hydration as it would otherwise have, given my skin type, and it looked clearer than before. A few weeks later, the pigmentation I had had for a long time was gone and breakouts are basically gone.
Fré and their mission
FRÉ is the first skincare focusing on the skin of active women. Their team of dermatological scientists found that key minerals and vitamins are lost through sweat during exercise (Lactate, Urea, Magnesium, Glycine, Citrulline, Creatinine, and Uric Acid), which can cause skin damage and premature ageing. Together with their botanical experts, they identified a natural plant that can address the effects of intense exercise and sweat on facial skin: the Argania Spinosa, aka Argan, a highly resilient and adaptable tree that grows in the deserts of Southern Morocco. They created a unique formula known as Argania Active Complex© out of the kernel and the leaf of the Argan tree.
What I love about FRÉ is not only their products but the fact that they are committed to having a real social impact. One of their dreams was to show the world that corporations could be social game-changers if they had the will to contribute to human progress. Their commitment is to plant an Argan Tree of Life in Morocco for every set sold. By the end of 2020, FRÉ had planted a total of 33,000 Argan tree. They recently announced that they will plant another 32,000 in the first quarter of 2021. They plant 1,000 times more trees than they use and each tree planted helps double the annual income of Moroccan women who produce Argan Oil. This not only helps fight deforestation of the endangered Argan forest but ensures the livelihood of local cooperatives for years to come. FRÉ also provide workshops and educational tools for women’s cooperatives in the Essaouira region, as well as for their children and families.
The products - my favourite ones so far
FRÉ offers a wide range of products. I have tried them all and use pretty much all of them! I would highly recommend you start with the 123FRÉ 3-step treatment, which includes PURIFY ME to cleanse the skin, REVIVE ME as a serum and PROTECT ME, the incredible day cream with SPF, or the AM/PM Set, which adds my favourite night cream: RECOVER ME. For the day cream I use Protect Me or GLOW ME, which is the tinted version. These creams protect your skin from the sun's harmful rays, which are intensified by sweat, and from pollution and other environmental damage, so they reduce premature ageing and promote a healthy and natural glow.
After cleansing my skin, morning and evening, I use the hydrating FACIAL ROSE MIST, which smells amazing and helps the skin’s absorption of the serum I AM LOVE, created with Talia Sutra, a natural blend of 5 super oils, which I apply after the mist. In the evening, I use either Revive me or ARGAN OIL as serums. Argan oil is a must-have: it contains one single pure and nourishing ingredient: FRÉ’s 100% Organic Argan Oil. You can use it at any time during the day, post-work-out, when you need to hydrate the skin, on your hands, on your nails, even on your hair. FRÉ even says it: “If you have to have just one product, make it this one".
FRÉ also have body products, which I use of course. I love the clarifying body cleanser, which exfoliates the skin, PURIFY BODY, and they have an antibacterial hand gel, PURIFY HANDS, which hydrates hands as well. If you have dry hands or eczema coming back like me because of all the gel use during the pandemic, this is a hands’ saver!
Finally and I will finish with this product, given the current circumstances: SHIELD ME. This reusable antibacterial mask is environmentally friendly, is embedded with silver ions, which actively kill bacteria and are potentially antiviral. Silver ions also work to fight ‘maskne’ and are anti-aging, boosting the collagen and hyaluronic acid in the skin, and they brighten blotches and discolouration by repressing melanin generation. AND you can actually breathe properly in it!
